DeShawn was surprsed to receive several bills from a Specialist and a Lab that showed that charges were applied as an out-of-network deductible, since he knew that he had used providers that were within his network. Having already called his BenefitsVIP team on a number of different occasions he felt comfortable reaching out to them again for help. BeneftisVIP confirmed that the providers were in-network during the time of service. After sending in an appeal on behalf of DeShawn to have the claims paid at the preferred benefit level, the carrier overturned their original decision. All claims were reprocessed in-network and the DeShawn was only responsible for minimal copays.
