DeShawn recently received several bills from a specialist and a lab that stated the charges were applied to the out of network deductible. DeShawn new that he was using services form providers that were in-network. He already called BenefitsVIP on a number of occasions so he picked up the phone to dial again for this new issue. BeenftisVIP confirmed that the provider participated and was in-network during the time of service. After sending in an appeal on behalf of DeShawn to have the claims paid at the preferred benefit level, the carrier overturned their original decision. All claims were reprocessed in network and the DeShawn was only responsible for minimal co-pays.
