Denise was going to her usual in-network dermatologist for some required services and after January 1st, she realized that in the explanation of benefits the charges were going towards the out-of-network deductible. She made one phone call to her BenefitsVIP Advisor to obtain clarity on the issue. The BenefitsVIP Advisor completed some due diligence with the carrier and confirmed that as of Jan 1st, her in-network Dermatologist actually became a non-participant within her plan. Since the provider never advised the employee that her dermatologist was no longer a participant within her plan BenefitsVIP had that ruling over turned and all related claims was processed in-network saving Denise thousands of dollars.
